Residential Clean-up Program (RCP)

Do I qualify?

The curbside Residential Clean-up Program (RCP) is only available to residential Vacaville customers who reside inside city limits.
Participating properties must have an active residential account with Recology Vacaville Solano.

Appliances, electronics, mattress sets, furniture, metal items, carpet, or trash in 32-gal bags. Please review our acceptable and unacceptable item list

Each RCP collection must not exceed (12) 32-gal bags. If both allotted RCP collections are combined, then the overall collection must not exceed (24) 32-gal bags. Any appliance, large furniture item or mattress set counts as one of your 2 allotted collections for the year.
Customers may schedule both of their allotted annual collections at the same time to double the amount of materials that are set out. For example, by scheduling both collections at once, you may set out 1 refrigerator and 12 bags of trash OR set out 1 mattress set (matching) and 1 bundle of used carpet.

You must first schedule your collection. Place your items neatly at the curb in front of your residence no later than 6am the day of the scheduled collection.
Write the letters RCP on a piece of paper and attach it to one of your items. This will let us know you are scheduled for collection.
PLEASE NOTE: Unless you identify an alternate curbside location (back alley, etc.) our drivers will only look for your setout in front of the service address you give us.

All materials must be set out next to the gray Toter at curbside on your scheduled collection day. Your driver uses your gray Toter to dispose of the bags you set out. Toter handles must face toward the curb with the lid completely closed. Leave at least 5 feet of space between items.
Place all bags, bundles, and appliances neatly at curbside next to your gray Toter.

Customers have a calendar year to schedule their 2 collections. Customer must request their collection 1 business day in advance of your regular collection day by calling Recology Vacaville Solano at 707-448-2945 or using our online
Residential Clean-up Program form.
Collections are on a space-available basis, so you will be scheduled for the next available opening on your scheduled collection day.

Acceptable Items:

	Trash Bags Bag all loose trash in 32-gal bags. Bags must be sealed and not weigh more than 25 lbs.

	Appliances Washers, dryers, refrigerators, water heaters and stoves and other large appliances. Microwave ovens, toaster ovens, and other small appliances. Remember to remove refrigerator doors for safety.

	Electronics TV's, DVD and VCR players, stereo equipment and speakers. Computers, monitors, printers and other hardware items. Lamps and other electronic items.

	Mattresses All sizes of mattresses, foundations and box springs. Mattress sets must match in size.

	Furniture Sofas, sofa beds, chairs, futons, dressers, tables. Cabinets, bookshelves, desks. Other similar household furniture items.

	Metal Bed frames, scrap metal, pipes. File cabinets, shelving units. Exercise equipment, bikes.

	Carpets and Padding Carpets and padding must be rolled or bundled into 5 foot lengths and weigh no more than 50 pounds per bundle.

	Long Loose Items Long loose items such as lumber, window blinds, pipes, brooms and mops, etc. should be tied into bundles no longer than 5 feet in length and weighing no more than 50 pounds per bundle.

Unacceptable Items:

	Bottles, Cans, Cardboard or Paper Recyclables We encourage you to recycle. Recyclables will be collected from the blue cart on your regular collection day.

	Yard Waste/ Green Waste We encourage you to recycle. Yard/Green waste will be collected from the green cart on your regular collection day.

	Concrete, Plaster, Dirt or Construction Debris Customers may contact us or request debris box service online.

	Oversized Items - Pianos or Tree Trunks These items are taken on a limited case by case basis. Customers may contact us to schedule an evaluation of the item.

	Hazardous Waste - Such As Paints, Pesticides, Chemicals, Household Batteries & Cleaning Agents Customers may contact us for information on the Household Hazardous Waste drop-off facility or visit our Household Hazardous Waste page.
