Disposal Information
Electronic WasteRecology Vacaville Solano provides a convenient drop off for residential Electronic Waste at 855½ Davis Street, every Saturday from 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. Limit of 2 items per visit.
Participants must be able to lift the item from their vehicle and carry to the drop off area.
Household Hazardous Waste Facility
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility (HHW) at 855½ Davis Street is open every Saturday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 P.M. and accepts oil-based paints, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, aerosols, gas, auto fluids, and other household toxics. The facility accepts residential materials only.
Recycling used oil in Vacaville
Vacaville has nine conveniently located state-certified used oil collection centers. You can get cash back for used motor oil. Call (707) 454-5705 for a list of locations. Oil and oil filters are accepted at the Recology Vacaville Solano Recycling Center at 855½ Davis Street, The Cherry Pit, and Wright Tire and Service.
Don't Get Stuck With Your Sharps!
State law prohibits the disposal of "sharps waste" in trash or recycling containers. All sharps waste must be transported to a collection center in an approved sharps container. Home-generated sharps waste includes hypodermic needles, syringes and lancets that are used for medical purposes. Sharps waste poses a threat to anyone it comes into contact with when disposed of improperly.Collection Programs:
Place home-generated sharps waste in biohazard containers. Biohazard containers are available for purchase at local pharmacies and some office supply stores. Contact your health care provider, local pharmacies, hospitals or clinics to ask if they offer a collection program. Sharps in approved biohazard containers can be brought to the Recology Vacaville Solano Recycling center on Saturdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
